Spoons Toons Movie Night: BraveStarr: the Movie

SPOONS TOONS MOVIE NIGHT - BANNER IMAGE - BRAVESTARR (FOR WEB - SMALLER).jpg

TICKETS!

Spoons Toons & Booze is going to the movies! In the style of our Saturday morning-inspired shows, we’ll be revisiting some classic animated feature films from the 80s and 90s, many of which aren’t streaming and probably never will be! Whether you saw these gems in the theater as a kid, happened upon them at your local Blockbuster - or didn’t even know they existed - we promise a whole lot of unintentionally hilarious animated fun.

Now Playing: BraveStarr: The Movie! The year: 1988. The Plot: Learn the story of the original discovery of Kerium (a fictional ore that serves as the main plot element of the TV series), and how the Galactic Marshall Bravestarr came to battle Tex Hex (a wanted outlaw) and his master Stampede (an evil spirit in the form of a bull skull) on the planet of New Texas. Meet his allies: J.B. (a female judge), Thirty/Thirty (his talking horse, who can become bipedal and fight on his own), Deputy Fuzz (one of the Prairie People, the original indigenous people of New Texas), and the Shaman (BraveStarr's mentor who helps him discover his animal-based powers). Come for the wild animal powers, staff for the movie that literally killed Filmation!

During the show:

  • Trivia and other contests! Prove your knowledge of all things animated and win tickets to upcoming virtual shows and Spoons Toons swag!

  • A play along Drinking Game! We’ll have a menu of moments to look out for in the film and invite you to take a sip or shot. Cheers!

  • Comedic commentary and more! Plus we’ll keep the chat open throughout the film so everyone can share their thoughts and joke about the movie together (this feature can also be turned off if you don’t want it).

*This show is intended for an adult audience. Mature Language.
